Sprint the bay is a series of 6 sprint orienteering events (both urban and non-urban) run over 3 days in the lovely sunny Hawkes Bay in New Zealand. The times for each day are compounded to find an overall winner at the end of the weekend. Much like in le tour de France there is a 'Yellow Jersey' worn by the current leaders in the men's and women's elite competitions. Sprint the Bay is designed to be as spectator friendly as possible and also provides a great atmoshpere for all competitors!

The event is a fundraiser for the children of the Morrison family who consistently represent New Zealand at various international competitions. The events are run by the Morrison family with the support of the local club for equipment and some very helpful volunteers.
